Ritz-Carlton Windows
Standing on the edge of a rugged coastline, looking at nothing but horizon, ocean waves and breathtaking sunsets, it’s easy to feel limitless. The designers of the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay wanted guests to experience that feeling whether they were indoors or out while they enjoyed their stay at the luxury resort. The right products would give guests that very feeling — like the windows and doors weren’t even there — and only Andersen Windows could deliver the designer’s promise.
Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay with Andersen WindowsLocated 30 miles south of San Francisco, this resort, designed by HKS Architects, evokes the grandeur of 19th century seaside lodges, with a variety of dormers, gables and chimneys forming a picturesque silhouette atop the rocky coastline. Some of the 266 guest rooms feature French doors and terraces with magnificent views of both the Pacific Ocean and the renowned Ocean Colony Golf Course. Other amenities include access to the golf course, ocean-view restaurants, meeting and spa facilities.
With a distinct exterior appearance, the best window choice would, ideally, not be noticed at all. The palette of exterior colors spanned earth tones drawn from the granite trim on the building’s facade to synthetic stucco covering the sides and rear of the structure. HKS wanted to know it could color match each window to blend in to the color variations. On the inside, a variety of stained and painted finishes would be needed to compliment the styles of the common areas, some of the higher-end rooms, restaurants, and other parts of the facility. As they did their research, they quickly learned that the Andersen Architectural line offered the style of windows in the variety of finishes and combinations they required.
The combination of double-hung windows and gliding patio doors provided the finishing touch the architect was looking for, reinforcing the timeless romance of the façade from the outside, while pulling the breathtaking views inside. No matter where guests find themselves, the view is never compromised.
