Andersen Corporation (Andersen) released its third annual Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR): A Window to a Better World. The CSR, available online here highlights the long-standing values, commitments and practices that signify Andersen’s sustainability heritage.

“Our 2013 Sustainability Report shows the deeply rooted values that our employees live every day for the benefit of our customers and communities,” said Jay Lund, chairman, president and chief executive officer at Andersen. “The triple bottom line approach is woven within the fabric of our culture and reflects our understanding that our own success relies on the health and resiliency of the communities where we live and work.”

The 2013 CSR illustrates how the company drives sustainability through design, sourcing, manufacturing and delivery with a focus on product stewardship and durability. The report meets the industry-standard Global Reporting Initiative’s requirements for a B Application Level report – up from a C Application Level last year. This increased transparency and annual reporting provides a baseline for year-over-year progress and improvements.

The CSR also highlights the growth of Andersen’s sustainability initiatives, including the continued conversion of a portion of its fleet to compressed natural gas, innovative waste and energy reduction projects led by employees, and expanded nonprofit collaborations with organizations like Yellowstone National Park and Habitat for Humanity’s EcoVillage project in River Falls, Wis.

“Leadership is always in motion,” said Jim Weglewski, Andersen’s Vice President of Quality, Sustainability and Facilities. “Our report illustrates Andersen’s continuous evolution as an industry leader and exemplifies our drive for ongoing improvement across our full product lifecycle – from the forest, to our operations, to our customers’ homes, and ultimately our communities.”

Headquartered in Bayport, Minnesota, Andersen Corporation employs more than 9,000 people in locations across North America with sales worldwide. Andersen received the 2013 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence award for its ongoing commitment to sustainability.
