TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) – Seeing temperatures well below average for the majority of the month, May has brought nothing but beautiful weather to southeast Arizona. In addition, our neighbor to the northeast has also seen cooler than average temperatures.

As the month of May comes to an end, it appears the people of Denver, Colorado will witness something that has not been seen in nearly six decades in the city. For the first time since 1957, the temperature could fail to reach 80°F in the month of May. If it does in fact fail to reach 80°F in the following days, it would mark only the sixth time in Denver’s history in which this has happened. Click here to read more about this feat and also a second record that the month of May is competing to break. According to CBS Denver meteorologist Chris Spears, “Denver’s 30-year average (1980-2009) for May days with a high of 80°F or higher is about 8”.  The weather in Colorado has a significant impact on weather here in Arizona, especially when it comes to the monsoon.
